Actress Shraddha Kapoor, who is just two films old in the industry, roped in the role as a lead in Mohit Suri’s Aashiqui 2 because of her simplicity.
Speaking of how she was approached for the film, the actress states, "Mohit Suri came home and I was wearing glasses. I didn't wear makeup and he liked the fact that I was in a geeky avatar. When he offered me Aashiqui 2, he told me that I got the role as he liked my simplicity. I play a lower middle class Maharashtrain girl and I am a half Maharashtrain in real life so things came to me easily."
Talking praises for the director, Shraddha says, "Mohit is a dream director and when he offered me Aashiqui 2 I was amazed. I always wanted to be a part of romantic film and I had great time doing this film," concluded Shraddha.
